Picking the
Right AC Unit
When you’re deciding on an air conditioner, it’s important to know what will work best for your home. Here are a few things to consider:
Size:
How big is your house? If you have a small apartment or condo, you might not need as large of an AC as someone who lives in a 4-bedroom house. The size of the unit will also affect its energy consumption and cost
Energy Efficiency:
Look for an Energy Star-rated air conditioner that uses less energy than other models. This can save you money over time, but be sure to check your local utility company’s rebate program first before purchasing one.
Leaking Freon:
The cost of an AC varies greatly depending on which model you choose and where you purchase it from; however, there are many different types of air conditioners available on the market today. If you’re looking for one that’s going to be energy efficient while still providing adequate cooling power, then consider investing in one that uses R410A refrigerant. This type of refrigerant is more environmentally friendly than coolants used in older models and generally costs less than those other types too!

Frequently Asked Questions
Are your technicians employees or subcontractors?
At Orzech Heating and Cooling, we never use sub-contractors. That means all of our technicians are Orzech employees that are uniformed, courteous, professional, and prompt.
What cooling products do you sell?
We sell Lennox® & Daikin air conditioners that are ENERGY STAR® certified, which means they meet guidelines for energy efficiency, keeping your utility costs low. Our expert technicians install everything we sell, backed by a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
Do you do ductwork?
Yes, our in-house sheet metal shop allows us to fabricate ductwork for any set-up. So whether you’re relocating an existing AC or installing a system in a brand new home, we can do it on time, on budget, and at the highest standards.
What is a split air conditioner and how does it work?
A split air conditioner comprises two separate units: a condensing unit and an evaporative coil. The condenser and coil are joined by a set of copper tubing known as a line-set, which transfers refrigerant from one unit to another. Ductless or split air conditioners are an excellent cooling option for homes or businesses without ductwork, as they operate solely on electricity and have a very high SEER rating for the best efficiency. If you just added a new room to your home, this may be an option for you.
How long does a central air conditioner last?
In our 25+ years in the heating and cooling industry, we’ve learned that the average lifespan of central air is 20–25 years. An air conditioner may need to be replaced earlier if its capacity is not properly matched to the cooling load of your home.
Remember, the older the unit, the less efficient it will be, and the more it will cost you in energy bills. As a reputable, trusted installer, we ensure you get a properly sized air conditioner for your home, providing you with a more efficient cooling solution.
