Are your technicians employees or subcontractors?

At Orzech Heating and Cooling, we never use sub-contractors. That means all of our technicians are Orzech employees that are uniformed, courteous, professional, and prompt.

Do you provide a guarantee?

Yes, we provide a 100% satisfaction guarantee. We’re committed to upholding the highest level of service and installation in the heating and air conditioning industry. That’s why we provide these two guarantees:

12 Month Service Work Guarantee: If you are not totally satisfied for the first year following the service work performed by Orzech Heating & Cooling, we will promptly address and perform, to your complete satisfaction, those issues regarding material and workmanship or we will refund your service call fee.

12 Month Product Installation Guarantee: If you are not totally satisfied with our product or installation work, we will promptly address and perform, to your complete satisfaction, those issues regarding material or workmanship or we will remove the installed equipment and refund your money.

What commercial work do you offer?

We are a full-service HVAC company that can handle service, sales, design and installation for businesses in London and the surrounding area.

We can take care of: heating, cooling, refrigeration, mechanical, gas piping, design-build, electrical, lighting and sheet metal fabrication.

Do you offer financing or payment plans?

We do not offer financing, but we understand that HVAC installation is a substantial investment. That’s why we offer flexible payment plans to help relieve the stress that can come with upgrades.

Do you offer emergency service?

Yes. When you call us, you get a real person. 24 hours a day. 365 days a year. An on-call technician will be at your business within 2 hours.

How much do HVAC services cost?

When dealing with HVAC companies, remember that the lowest price is not necessarily the best price. Make sure that you receive a detailed quote outlining exactly what you are purchasing.

Off brand manufacturers may offer a lower quality product which will affect your enjoyment of your home for many years to come. Extras may not be listed and could be charged at install causing the price to rise. A reputable dealer will always give full disclosure and ensure that the quoted price is the final price. Remember, the lowest price usually brings the lowest service and corners that need to be cut to remain profitable.

Do you do ductwork?

Yes. Our in-house sheet metal shop allows us to fabricate ductwork for any set-up.

What is the average life expectancy of a gas furnace?

The average life of a furnace is around 15 to 30 years. As long as you have scheduled annual furnace maintenance, it should easily last over 20 years.

How often should I change my furnace filter?

Many factors contribute to how often you change your furnace filters. Generally, you should change your air filter at least every three months. During the winter, when you rely on your heating system more, you want to increase that frequency to once per month.

Why is my furnace blowing cold air?

If you experience a furnace blowing cold air, we can help inspect and service the issue.

Can I convert from electric heating to a gas furnace?

Yes. Converting from electric heat could save you money and energy. We can remove your electric system and install a gas furnace with the necessary ductwork. You can talk to one of our team members to get started on converting to gas.

Do you do emergency furnace repair?

Yes. We are available 24/7. No matter when you call us you will speak to a real person. We have staff on-call for emergency repair.

How often should I service my gas fireplace?

Though gas fireplaces are efficient and low-maintenance, they still should be serviced every year they are in use. It‘s best to get your fireplace checked each spring, but we can schedule a visit on a day and time that works best for you.

Do I need a smart thermostat?

You could see huge savings from switching to a smart thermostat. With a smart thermostat, it’s easy to schedule your HVAC to run less while you’re out for the day, so you’ll use less energy by heating or cooling your home only while you’re in it. Some models also offer weekly and monthly energy reports and remote access as well.

How do ductless air conditioners work?

Ductless air conditioning systems, or mini-splits, link individual room units to an outdoor compressor. Warm air is pulled from the room and sent back as cold air.

Do ductless air conditioners need to be vented?

No, they do not require venting. Installation requires only a small hole in the wall to connect the pipe from the indoor unit to the compressor unit outside. In addition, the outdoor compressor unit provides power to the indoor unit, so there’s no need for additional indoor wiring.

Are ductless air conditioners efficient?

Yes. Ductless systems have an energy efficiency of up to 27 SEER, making them highly efficient.

Do ductless air conditioners heat?

Yes. Some ductless systems provide heating without any additional modifications.

How many rooms can a ductless AC cool?

A ductless system can have up to four units connected to a single exterior condenser unit, meaning that they can cool four spaces in your home.

How long do central air conditioners last?

The lifespan of a home air conditioner varies based on several factors. On average, they last from 20 to 25 years, but with regular checkups and repairs, many systems can last even longer.

What size of central air conditioning unit do I need?

Many factors contribute to the size of the air conditioner that you need. Before installing any air conditioning unit, we learn about your needs to determine what model is suitable for you. This ensures that you get the correct amount of BTUs, helping to limit the run time, and reduce your energy bill.

How often should I have my air conditioner serviced?

In order to extend the lifespan of your air conditioning system, we recommend an annual service visit.

What causes pipes to leak?

There are several reasons that pipes leak; here are a few common ones:

  • Broken seals
  • Clogged lines
  • Corrosion
  • Damaged pipe joints
  • Excess water pressure

  • Loose water connectors
  • Rapid temperatures changes

How do you find a leaking water pipe?

Here are possible signs of a water leak:

  • Unusually high water bill
  • Look at your grass. Is there a patch that is growing faster and much greener than the rest of your yard?
  • Investigate appliances and fixtures. Look for puddles around the base of tubs, toilets, and showers and beneath the water heater, dishwasher, and washing machine.
  • Wall discolouration, bubbling paint or bulging wallpaper, or a musty smell are all signs of a leak.

These are just a few examples. Address leaks promptly to reduce the risk of water damage.

How to tell if your pipes are frozen?

One of the earliest signs of a frozen pipe is when no water comes out of your faucet. The first step is heading down to the basement and checking to see if your water is turned on and that you don’t have a leak. If the water is on, the next step is contacting us.

Can you help prevent frozen pipes?

The best way to handle frozen pipes is through prevention by insulating and protecting your pipes. If you are concerned about freezing pipes, contact us, we’re happy to help.

Signs you may have clogged pipes?

The main signs that your pipes have a clog:

  • water is draining slowly from your sink
